Guide to Vieques Landmarks

Esperanza Malecon

The Malecon (Mal-lay-cohn) is the waterfront promenade in the southern Vieques Barrio of Esperanza. Dozens of restaurants, bars, small shops, street vendors and the VCHT museum line this seaside street.

During the day, you can have lunch at several cafes or restaurants. Explore small shops for an island gift. Book your bio bay tours or rent beach-going gear and head to the nearby beaches.

Most nights, you will find a lively and friendly gathering of visitors and locals. Have dinner in one of many great restaurants, then a drink at a beachfront bar. Perhaps latin dancing by the water, and then... Who knows?
