Sun Bay is the most popular and accessible beach on Vieques.
Located east of Esperanza, the Sun Bay park amenities include concessions, a cafe, showers, campgrounds and drive-up access to a beautiful Caribbean beach.
Dozens of semi-wild horses graze in the large meadows of Sun Bay; some are friendly. The sandy beaches are home to coconut palms, sea grapes, almond and quenepa trees.
Gentle waves lap at the shore of the mile-long beach. The waters allow for an easy swim, but avoid submerged rocks in places.
Sun Bay is excellent for a family gathering. Or, spend entire days just relaxing in a hammock!
Media Luna beach and Playa Navio are accessible from Sun Bay.
Sun Bay is very easy to locate. Travel east from Esperanza along Rt. 997 and turn at the gated Sun Bay entrance.
