Media Luna, or "Half-Moon" beach, is an idyllic small playa located just east of Sun Bay. As the name implies, Media Luna is a wide bay resembling a half-moon. This bay protects the shore from most wave activity.
The calm, shallow water and sandy bottom makes Media Luna ideal for young swimmers. The powdery sand at Media Luna, consisting of powdered coral, is perhaps the finest on Vieques.
Media Luna has parking and several gazebos for a beachside picnic.
From the entrance to Sun Bay park, follow the road along the length of the beach to the eastern edge. Follow the dirt road into the scrub. Keep to the right until you arrive at the Media Luna parking area. The road continues to Navio Beach.
